The Independence Day parade was held on Monday in Highland Park, Chicago, USA. This time there was a sudden shooting during the parade.

According to Reuters, the governor of Illinois claimed that 5 people were killed and 57 were injured in the shooting. It is said that the shooting took place from a tall building.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the shooting took place about 10 minutes after the parade began.

The parade was then stopped. Hundreds of people rushed to save lives. Meanwhile, the administration tweeted about the incident and appealed to the people to stay away from the spot.

WGN TV quoted sources as saying that several people were seriously injured in the shooting. The suspect is said to have fled after the attack. 

U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider told Reuters that when the shooting began in Highland Park, he and his district propaganda team were at the forefront of the parade.

 Schneider said, "Many have been killed and many more injured. My condolences to all those killed in the attack and their families.
